Transmission installation
Install the transmission in the reverse order of removal.
Pay attention to the following points:
Bearing and oil seal
Caution
replace the removed bearings and oil seals
with new ones ...
Countershaft gear / driveshaft gear
disassembly and assembly
Refer to “transmission removal” and “transmission installation” .
Disassembly
Caution
identify the position of each removed part.
Organize the parts in their respective groups

Gearshift shaft / gearshift cam plate removal
and installation
Removal
Remove the engine sprocket cover. Refer to “engine sprocket removal and
installation” in section 3a .
Remove the clutch components. Refer to “clutch removal” in section 5c .
Remove the snap ring (1) and washer (2) from the
gearshift shaft.

Exhaust pipe bolt and muffler bolt inspection
Tighten exhaust pipe bolts and muffler bolts
initially at 1 000 km (600 miles, 2 months) and every
12 000 km (7 500 miles, 24 months) thereafter
Check the exhaust pipe bolts and muffler bolts to the
specified torque.
Tightening torque
exhaust pipe bolt (a): 23 n·m (2.3 Kgf-m, 16.5 Lbf-ft)
